Private Classes

Have me step into your kitchen for a hands-on experience with masala. We will chop, cook and eat together. We will also explore perspectives on taste, sensory body intelligence and traditional regional Indian cooking techniques, finishing with a Kashmiri meal and your own masala dabba (spice tin) in which to keep your spice and your memories.

Booked out dates are marked on the calendar. Please email your date and city requests so we can chat.

  • Classes are $250pp including your own take home masala dabba or spice tin.

  • Private classes are held in Melbourne, the Margaret River Region, and Perth.

  • This is a four-hour experience, including the meal. Evening classes generally start at 6pm and finish by 10pm. Day classes generally begin at 10am and finish by 2pm.

  • Minimum groups of four or a minimum cost. Maximum of eight recommended.

  • I bring everything. All I need to begin is a clean kitchen.

  • All dietary requirements and food allergies catered for.

  • Classes are hands-on. We share the meal and the experience.

  • Learn techniques to make your own spice blends, and techniques of cooking specific to regional Indian traditions.

  • Each class is structured just for you and your group.

  • All skill levels catered for: from can’t-boil-water to cordon bleu.

  • Classes can include information around Ayurveda and traditional approaches to spice and health.

  • Ask about our additional option around clean up staff, who will ensure your kitchen is left in pristine order.

  • Talk to me about bespoke events, experiences or catering.

A note: My food is gluten-free. However it is worth noting that dairy is a fundamental aspect of the Kashmiri Hindu cooking tradition—though it can be omitted, if it is possible to work around its consumption for one meal (without health repercussions) I do suggest that as an approach.
